Chris Brown - Look At Me Now Ft. Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes

Holy schnikes! This song is ridiculous. A slow drippy beat and some of the most ridiculously fast flows you've ever heard from Weezy and Busta.

Chromeo - Hot Mess (live on Conan)

Chromeo stopped by Conan last night and performed Hot Mess. The song is pretty funky, but the highlight was the glowing stands used to support the band's instruments. Check out the video below to see what's fresh.

J.Period, John Legend, and The Roots - Wake Up Radio! (mixtape)

In anticipation of an award-winning evening for John Legend & The Roots’ WAKE UP! album (nominated for 5 Grammys at Sunday’s 2011 Grammy Awards), J.Period & Truelements Music are pleased to present WAKE UP! RADIO – a star-studded mixtape collaboration with Columbia Records’ multi-platinum singing sensation, and the hardest working Late Night band on the planet!

Hosted by The Roots’ own Black Thought, WAKE UP! RADIO pays tribute to the legacy of soul music that paved the way for WAKE UP! and imagines a world where mainstream radio transmits music with a message. Employing an all-star cast of musical contemporaries (including John Legend & The Roots themselves), J.Period dissects, remixes and rebuilds the original recording sessions from the WAKE UP! album in an unprecedented manner, defying the conventional wisdom of what a “mixtape” can be—producing a full-fledged remix album in the process. The result is a treasure trove of powerful new music, produced and remixed exclusively by J.Period for WAKE UP! RADIO.

Scheduled for release today, February 10, 2011 , WAKE UP! RADIO will be offered as a FREE DOWNLOAD in celebration of WAKE UP!’s 5 Grammy nominations, and will also be available as a Limited Edition gift-bag giveaway at The Roots’ Grammy Jam on Saturday, February 12 in Los Angeles, CA—consistently one of the hottest tickets on a weekend overflowing with events. J.Period will also be on hand in Los Angeles to perform at The Grammy Jam, DJing to open up for The Roots’ headlining performance.

Calvin Harris - I'm Not Alone (Deadmau5 remix)

Superbowl Ad Game Wrap Up

Superbowl XLV was a great game and, for once, the highlight was on the football and not the ridiculous ads that cost a fortune to air during the most coveted of time slots. That didn't stop the Mad Men from trying to get our attention though, and I decided to post a few of the ads that stood out during the game.

First off was Eminem's two commercials. One for Lipton Brisk and another for the Chrysler 200, emphasizing Detroit above the actual car. For someone who has had an enormous amount of commercial success, Eminem has steered clear of actual commercials. Though he is still a long way from appearing in the amount of commercials Dr. Dre has, we applaud Eminem for keeping it real in the spots.

Next up is a Best Buy ad featuring the omnipresent Justin Beiber and The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne. Beiber, who is promoting a movie, is impossible to escape. He stood in for John Stewart on The Daily Show last week and was the featured musical guest on a painfully unfunny SNL. I suppose he's here to stay for a while, but it still makes me wince when I see him standing opposite of Ozzy Osbourne hocking cellphones for Best Buy. See the commercial below and check out the clip under that, where only a couple of months ago, Ozzy Osbourne asked "Who the fuck is Justin Beiber?"

The best ads during the game came came in the form of movie trailers from Marvel. They debuted the trailers for Captain America: First Avenger and Thor. Maybe I'm just a comic book geek, but both of these movies look stellar and and are definite first day must-sees. Oh, and there was also a trailer for Super 8, a movie written and directed by J. J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg. Not much was revealed except their involvement. Check em out below.

The Moth Joke

I love this joke. It's like the Aristocrats: you can add whatever you want in between the set-up and the punchline and make it your own. Classic Norm MacDonald.
