Lady Gaga Announces 'Born This Way' Album and Single

Lady Gaga definitely captures our attention when she wants to, and what better way to announce her new album and single than with a bare ass shot in the style of Bruce Springsteen's Born in the U.S.A? At midnight on New Years Eve, she tweeted, “THE SONG 2 13 11 THE RECORD 5 23 11″ along with the accompanying photo, meaning the the first single will be the title track, which will be released on February 13, 2011 and the album itself will drop on May 23, 2011. Boy, she sure knows how to rile up her little monsters.

 

Do You Want to Live in China?

As Banned Book week gets underway here in America and President Obama calls for a free and open internet, something sinister this way comes. I'm talking about a bi-partisan bill that could kill the internet freedoms we all know and love. In the United States, a new law proposal called The Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA) was introduced last week, and there will be a hearing in front of the Judiciary Committee this Thursday.

If passed, this law will allow the government, under the command of the media copanies, to censor the internet as they see fit, like China and Iran do, with the difference that the sites they decide to censor will be completely removed form the internet and not just in the US.

M.I.A. - Born Free (previously banned from youtube)

M.I.A. can't seem to catch a break. Her breakout song "Paper Planes" was censored heavily by MTV, David Letterman and a bunch of radio stations due to the use of gun shots on the hook, and her most recent single "Born Free" was briefly taken off of youtube for a couple of brutal scenes involving violence to red-heads. Youtube eventually relented and allowed the video, with a disclaimer foreword, to be posted. Check it out.
